eVisa checks: view your status and keep your UKVI account up to date

Your eVisa is the digital record of your UK immigration permission. Before you need to prove your status, check that you can access it and that your details are correct. This guide explains where to view your record, obtain a share code and find official help.

Who this helps

People with UK immigration permission recorded as an eVisa who need to check or share their status.

What to do

  1. Open the official eVisa guide below. If you do not yet have a UKVI account, follow its account setup instructions. Accessing your eVisa and setting up the account are free.
  2. Use the official view-and-share service with your sign-in identity details and access to your registered phone or email. Check the identity and immigration information shown.
  3. If an employer or other organisation needs proof, request a share code for the relevant purpose. Give the recipient the code and your date of birth; codes are valid for 90 days.
  4. Check that your current passport and contact details are recorded in your UKVI account. Use the official update service when your details change.
  5. If the eVisa itself contains an error or will not generate a share code, follow the report-an-error link in the official guide. Use its account recovery help if you cannot sign in.

Before you act

  • Checking or updating an account does not apply for or extend immigration permission. Follow the instructions for your own visa route.
  • The update service says you cannot change your name or passport while waiting for a visa application decision. Follow official help for your circumstances.
